In Rimatara, Polynesia, basketry work is an art. A tropical plant with long leaves is cultivated there to be woven or braided: the pandan. The design is inspired by the artisans expertise of the Padan leaf and has remarkable textural effects. It comes in a sumptuous palette of natural hues, enhanced on certain colours with metallic ink.
