Insight Body and Mind
Seeking to expand their practice in a union of mindful movement and psychological care, Insight Body and Mind enlisted Melbourne-based design firm Biasol to elevate both the interiors and the visual identity of the brand.
Conceived as one to ensure a fully immersive and transcendental spatial journey, the branding, interiors, and services establish a new benchmark in their field whilst empowering holistic change through yoga, barre, and Pilates.
“The experience begins on the ground floor with calm, grounded consulting rooms and flows upward to the light-filled movement studios across the first and second floors,” explains Jean-Pierre Biasol.
Sculpted curved forms, graphic stone surfaces, and an interplay of light evoke a sense of flow, energy, and life – in turn emphasising Insight’s unique point of difference.
“The colour palette is composed of two distinct yet complementary schemes,” notes Jean-Pierre. “We selected Zepel’s Allusion fabric in Sesame and Silver to complement and elevate the tonal palette of each floor.
“These sheer fabrics bring softness and diffusion to the natural light, enhancing the calm, restorative atmosphere we aimed to create across both the psychology and movement spaces.”
Pinsent Masons, Perth
An innovative global law firm, Pinsent Masons sought to open a Perth office in addition to their existing Sydney and Melbourne locations.
Seeking to create a modern, highly professional space which embodies the surrounding environment and reflects their mantra – approachable, bold, and connected – the firm enlisted local interior design studio Design Theory.
Inspired by the company’s sense of purpose and the building’s exceptional views, Design Theory crafted a highly functional interior consisting of multipurpose spaces for work, collaboration, relaxation, privacy, and socialising.
The material palette takes inspiration from the colours, textures, and hues of Swan River and Kings Park. Celebrating and connecting the interior spaces with the outdoor-focussed Western Australian lifestyle and vibrant blue sky.
Sheeth HQ
Designed with meticulous detail and care by Studio Prineas, Sheeth HQ is a robust yet playful workplace for Marrickville-based boutique builders, Sheeth.
“Having worked with Sheeth over a series of projects, we were entrusted to breathe new life into the builder’s warehouse property, located on Gadi Country,” says Eva-Marie Prineas, Principal of Studio Prineas. “As a family business, Sheeth wanted their headquarters to reflect their philosophy of quality craftsmanship while enhancing the team’s daily working experience.”
“The design drew inspiration from the gritty character of the original warehouse site in Marrickville, while a new courtyard acts as a secret garden within the space, connecting all workspaces and bringing natural light and fresh air into the warehouse shell.”
An Atypical Sports Bar
The Loft Bar brings a fresh perspective to sport-inspired hospitality in the heart of Christchurch, New Zealand. Redefining typical sports bars in favour of a refined, inclusive space where the atmosphere is just as important as the game.
Design studio Element 17 led the interior concept with a clear intent: to create a space that feels elevated and design-focused, without losing the social energy that sport brings.
“We wanted to create a venue where sport plays a meaningful role in the atmosphere but doesn’t dominate it,” says Naomi Edwards of Element 17. “We explored how this energy could be translated into spatial language and materiality, without falling back on masculine clichés or visual clutter.”
With this direction in mind, the design balances sport references with a sophisticated material palette. Statement pieces like the custom oversized tennis racquet chandelier offer a clever nod to the venue’s theme, while avoiding visual overload.
“This meant designing elements that would speak to a shared cultural love of sport, while also being sensitive to a broad audience by elevating the overall design to welcome guests to enjoy a game or just enjoy the atmosphere over evening cocktails.”
The aesthetic draws influence from the industrial charm of New York’s loft-style venues. Brick veneer walls and exposed timber beams contrast with layered lighting, brushed brass finishes, and a tactile mix of leather and velvet upholstery. Deep tones of navy, burgundy, emerald, and rust introduce warmth and richness to the space.
