The newly renovated Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club situated on the picturesque Great Ocean Road sits boldly near the ocean’s edge. This building, reminiscent of Brutalist architecture, is a combination of sturdy concrete wall panels, metal, curved window portals, and glass. These materials are functional against the hard climatic conditions of the sea, yet they are executed with refinement and design. With this respect for longevity in materials is the hope this building will last 70 plus years.

Against the ocean – FibreGuard Outdoor
The curved lines on the façade reflect the movement of the waves, while the interior colour scheme of gold and eucalyptus shades mimic the sand dunes and shrubs along the coastline.
The iconic club has been a pillar of the community, patrolling beaches, providing training, first aid and emergency services since 1952. It’s also a central meeting point for members, lifeguards, and young people in training - a place of dedication and commitment to ensuring our beaches are safe for the community. Additionally, it’s a space for gatherings, events and leisure with a bustling restaurant, bar, apparel store and outdoor ‘sky deck’ balcony area with an expansive sea view. This versatile meeting point has been met with sleek interior styling and comfortable furnishings.
Our new FibreGuard Outdoor collection features in the ‘sky deck’ area of the new building. The small scale, geometric design Hunting has been used on the bench seats, and the cushions feature the dynamic Running and plain weave design Climbing in complementary white and grey scale colourways. The striking patterned collection combines function, beauty, and comfort in this space. Our FibreGuard Outdoor range is a great innovation in textiles design and outdoor entertainment. This collection boasts incredible high-performance properties such as UV, weather, and stain resistance, anti-microbial attributes that combat mould and mildew, and a robust fabric construction. This composition of solution dyed nylon has been specifically engineered for outdoor environments. Such an incredible sight to see these designs against the backdrop of a busy beach monitored by the Anglesea Surf Life Saving Club.
